Founded in 1996, London Islamic School (LIS) is a K–8 private school owned and operated by the London Muslim Mosque, serving the Muslim community of London, Ontario and beyond.
London Islamic School cultivates and celebrates the intellectual, spiritual, and personal growth of each student in a community that instills strong Islamic values, fosters a genuine passion for learning, and empowers pupils to become confident, high-achieving Canadian-Muslim citizens ready to pursue higher education and thrive beyond the classroom.
A Curriculum Built for Muslim Students, By Muslim Educators
LIS is home to one of the only Islamic Studies programs of its kind — developed in-house in collaboration with the Ministry of Education in Qatar. Paired with dedicated Quran, Tahfeez, and Arabic Language programs, students don't just learn about their faith alongside academics; they receive an integrated education where both are woven together from day one.

Founded in 1996 and owned and operated by the London Muslim Mosque, LIS was the first institution in London, Ontario to offer Islamic education — and has grown into a trusted community fixture ever since. For almost 30 years, families have turned to LIS not just as a school, but as an extension of their community and faith.
Proven Academic Excellence
London Islamic School doesn't just meet the Ontario curriculum — it exceeds it. In the Fraser Institute's annual elementary school report, LIS ranked #2 in London and 24th across all of Ontario, out of over 3,000 schools evaluated on provincial reading, writing, and math scores. It's academic proof that a faith-centered education and top-tier results go hand in hand.
