THE FINAL YEARS AT LIS (7-8)
The purpose of our Junior High division is to provide an Islamic environment of mutual respect and co-operation in the final years of the K-8 schooling for our students. It is our goal to produce strong graduates marching into a variety of high schools across the city and becoming positive contributors to the school communities they become a part of insha’Allah. The middle years of schooling is a time of rapid growth in a young person’s life, involving complex and irregular physiological and emotional change. At London Islamic School we are dedicated in providing an Islamically inspired and caring environment for students as they transition from the primarily “one classroom” learning environment of the Elementary School to the varied demands and structures of our Junior High division.
At London Islamic School, our junior high division offers the full complement of cores approved and required by the Ontario Ministry of Education as well as in-house designed Islamic Studies, Qur’anic Studies, and Arabic Language courses.
As our program grows year after year, we strive to offer a wide range of opportunities for creativity, sport and service to the community. Within this context, students of varying abilities and aptitudes are encouraged to develop to their full intellectual, social, moral, physical, creative, emotional and individual potential. We believe in cultivating the skillsets of our students through project-based learning, extra-curricular activities, and a student-centered instruction and assessment pedagogy.
