Welcome Letter from the LIS Principal
As-salamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.
Dear Parents and Guardians,
It is with great humility and excitement that I introduce myself as the new Principal of London Islamic School. My name is Ibrahim Abd Rahman, and I am a certified Canadian educator and school leader with over 14 years of experience in teaching and administration across Canada and internationally.
My journey to LIS:
Throughout my career, I have embraced education not only as a profession but as a calling- one that carries both the privilege of shaping young minds and the responsibility of representing my values with dignity, professionalism, and respect. My journey has taken me from community development initiatives in Canada, Haiti, and Brazil to leadership roles in middle and secondary schools in Southern Ontario and Muscat, Oman. These diverse experiences have deepened my understanding of the importance of adaptability, cultural awareness, and academic excellence in today’s globalized world.
As an educator, my mission is to empower students to reach their full potential—academically, socially, and spiritually. I believe in a student-centered, inquiry-based approach to learning that nurtures curiosity, critical thinking, and character development. My leadership style is rooted in collaboration, creativity, and a commitment to fostering a joyful and inclusive school culture where every learner feels seen, supported, and inspired.
What drew me to London Islamic School was its unwavering dedication to cultivating academic excellence within the framework of Islamic values. The school’s emphasis on Quranic study, character building, and holistic development resonates deeply with my own educational philosophy. I am honored to be part of a community that strives to nurture students who are not only knowledgeable but also compassionate, principled, and prepared to contribute positively to society.
My early impressions of London Islamic School:
London Islamic School (LIS) is a private, full-time Islamic school serving students from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8. We are proud to offer a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that blends academic excellence with strong Islamic values. Our facilities—including a spacious gymnasium, vibrant playground, well-stocked library, and a licensed childcare centre – reflect our commitment to supporting the holistic development of every child.
At LIS, we are proud to deliver the Ontario curriculum alongside robust Arabic, Qur’anic, and Islamic Studies programs. Our dedicated Qur’an memorization department plays a vital role in helping students connect deeply with the Book of Allah, fostering both spiritual growth and academic discipline.
I would also like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the continuous support of the London Muslim Mosque (LMM), the LIS School Board (LISB), our devoted staff, and our incredible volunteers. Their tireless efforts and steadfast commitment continue to be instrumental in shaping this vibrant community that I have only recently been introduced to.
I look forward to working closely with you—our parents and guardians—as partners in your child’s educational journey. Together, in shaa Allah, we will continue to build a school environment that reflects the beauty of our faith and the promise of our future.
Warm regards,
Mr. Ibrahim Abd Rahman

Welcome to LMM Woods
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,
It is with great joy that I welcome you to our second campus LMM Woods, a private full-time Islamic school serving students from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8. At LMM Woods, we strive to nurture the whole child academically, spiritually, and socially within an environment rooted in Islamic values.
Our school is blessed with excellent facilities, including a large playground, library, and a licensed childcare centre, all of which enhance the learning experience and provide a safe, supportive space for our students.
We are proud to offer the Ontario curriculum alongside a rich program in Arabic, Qur’anic, and Islamic Studies, supported by our dedicated Qur’an Memorization Department. This balanced approach ensures that our students not only excel academically but also grow in faith and character.
None of this would be possible without the unwavering support of the London Muslim Mosque (LMM), the LIS School Board (LISB), our dedicated staff, and our amazing volunteers. Their commitment allows us to continue building a strong foundation for our students and community.
Thank you for placing your trust in us. We look forward to working together to nurture confident, compassionate, and knowledgeable young Muslims who will contribute positively to society.
With warm regards,
Patricia Zabian
